What a super start to the year it has turned out to be. I competed my horse, Worldly Wise in January where we got a great score considering how new we are to each other. From this competition, we are taking into consideration all the judges’ comments during training in preparation for the Premier Leagues, High Profile and International competitions planned throughout the year.
Our first big outing is in March at Keysoe Premier League where I will be doing the Junior FEI team, individual and Advanced Medium tests over the course of the weekend. In preparation for this, myself and Will have worked on using every piece of the arena to set up for each movement, making his trot very expressive to establish our way of going into movements and the ability to collect so he is always listening to me to maximise our marks in a test environment.
I’m really pleased with how our partnership is coming together. Especially from our first competition where the aim was to do a safe test as experience, when now were confident enough to try new techniques so we can perfect each aspect of the advanced moves and to reach our full potential. Towards the end of January, we contacted the International Italian Federation regarding how I can qualify for internationals and to reach the European Team. I’ve been asked to achieve two score sheets over a certain percentage to reach the international stage at Junior FEI and I’m looking to achieve this at Keysoe Premier League in two weeks’ time. All going to plan, I soon hope to be attending an international abroad to secure a place at the Italian Team selection.
I will let you all know how the Premier League goes with some pictures wearing eGloves of course! Many thanks to eGlove again for your ongoing support, in every aspect of training, it feels unnatural not to wear such comfy gloves.
In the picture I’m wearing my Equest Grip Pro with touch screen technology – just the best.
Until next time, Olivia x
